Volgans are the dominant group of the northern land of Joturn. They are subordinates and loyal followers of the giant Voligar, the Frost Shadow of the North.
They are made up of countless races, united under the leadership of Voligar, and his philosophy that the strongest takes what they want for themselves. Before the giant’s rule, those who lived on Joturn were divided into simple tribes that fought for supremacy and survival in the frozen land.
The giant then subjugated all the relevant tribes under his command in a very short time. And under his leadership, that land of savagery and immense violence was transformed. Before the tribes lived in camps that were constantly dismantled and moved, now they had cities and fortresses of stone and steel. Before they killed each other for scraps, now they invaded other lands, pillaged and returned with mountains of slaves, goods and riches. Before they consumed what they had, now they consume whatever they want. Through intelligence, violence and power, Voligar conquered and transformed Joturn in a way that the people who lived there themselves never thought possible.
The other tribes had become so prosperous, large, and dominant that to call them tribes was to belittle them. Now these immense groups were called reigres, each ruled by a reigrarch. Despite their advancement, growth, and prosperity, none of them ever managed to surpass the dominance of the Jortar reigre, and its reigrarch Voligar, king of Joturn, and the Frost Shadow of the North, which descends to the south, bringing all the violence that the ancient tribes unleashed on each other to their enemies.
Organization
Reigres
The reigres are the ancient tribes of Joturn who were conquered and subjected to the dominance of Voligar and his reigre Jortar. Each reigre has its own culture, customs and specialties that will serve the plans of the king of Joturn.
Jortar
Original tribe of Voligar. A tribe made up of giants, and the most powerful, influential, and important of all.
Naztrar
Easily the second most important tribe in the Voligar empire, together with the Skarr. The king’s closeness to this tribe was natural since one of the giant’s main powers is shadows, and the Naztrar are completely focused on that.
Being the greatest users of shadows on the planet, the members of this tribe produce assassins, warriors, and mages, all born and raised to use the shadows as they see fit.
One thing that further increased the importance and morale of this tribe in the empire was the fact that they created a class of warriors who became one of Voligar’s greatest forces: the Sebraviks.
The Sebraviks are undead who have received absurdly better physical abilities than common races, but in exchange for all the benefits they must feed on the shadows of the living.
Skarr
Now a king, the Skarr were one of the oldest tribes in the frozen region of Joturn, and are considered to have the deepest roots in these lands. After all, for those who control the ice, a frozen land is called home.
The Skarr have a natural affinity with ice. They reside at the base of the enormous Rl’ive glacier, more precisely around a huge, tall but thin fissure in the ice wall. They named this fissure Elirart, “Breath of God”. This name comes from the icy wind that blows out of the fissure at intervals. Everything caught in its breath is frozen with extreme speed. Many have entered Elirart, seeking to see what is inside the fissure in the glacier, but no one has ever returned. Some were even caught by the breath right at the entrance, turning into ice statues, which could easily be considered decorations. The ice in the fissure, as well as its surroundings, is very dark compared to the parts of the glacier further away from Elirart, which are formed by ice of normal color and temperature. After years of living there, the Skarr realized that the wind that came from the fissure turned anything it touched into that dark ice. This ice was more resistant and could not be melted, at least not by anything the Skarr tested. They then called this material Royal Ice, and began mining it from Rl’ive.
While Elirart’s breath can turn anything into Royal Ice, it does not produce it out of thin air, and with the Skarr mining the glacier faster than it could rebuild itself, the Royal Ice soon began to run out. But the solution to this problem came quickly and clearly. Just as a furnace fire needs materials to keep burning, the Skarr only needed things for their breath to turn into Royal Ice. They began to leave entire trees, huge rocks, and even captured enemies in front of the fissure to be caught by their breath. Everything was transformed into Royal Ice. And so, as long as they continued to provide materials to be frozen into the structure, the Skarr would continue to have this beautiful and incredible ice.
The Royal Ice collected was used by the Skarr as a true divine material. Easily moldable like ice and hard as steel. It was not long before weapons were made from this ice. Other tribes became interested in the Skarr’s new tools; and although some managed to steal the Royal Ice weapons, they were unable to wield them. The ice was so strong that its temperature hurt anyone who hit it, and in some cases, anyone who came close. The Skarr, being naturally resistant to cold and familiar with ice, are the only ones capable of producing and handling Royal Ice weapons.
When Voligar took control of the Jortar tribe and began his campaign of conquest, the Skarr were among the first to join him. Voligar admired the Skarr’s commitment to discovering and understanding Royal Ice to the point of making weapons that only they could wield; just as the Skarr admired Voligar’s ambition to take what he wanted. With mutual respect, the two easily joined forces, with the Skarr being one of the most influential reigres of all. Many said they were second only to Voligar’s reigre, the Jortar.
Flicre
Occupying the northwestern mountains of Joturn, a volcanic region and the hottest in the region, this region is completely based on fire. The reigrarch of the Flicre is the incandescent dwarf Igan.
Ervin
Reigre who lives surrounded by the orange tree. From its fruits they obtain the power of the Profane mysti. They are the greatest users of this mysti in Joturn.
Unities
Jortugard

After the discovery of the legendary Royal Ice, the giant king Voligar ordered the experimentation of the substance and how it could be used to improve his armies and their strength. The ice did not melt and the cold it generated was considered lethal. Small pieces were ingested by candidates and everyone died of frostbite. The seed-sized Royal Ice froze the person from the inside out, remaining in their stomach, never being digested or expelled. All the small piece did was freeze the inside until the entire body stopped functioning.
Even with the discouraging results, Voligar did not stop the experimentation. It was then that success arrived. Small pieces of this ice were lethal to races of normal size, as their bodies were quickly consumed and subjugated by the cold of the Royal Ice. However, no other person on the planet had as many giants at their disposal as Voligar. The attempt was natural, and a success. The giants’ immense bodies were able to resist the cold of the small pieces that would remain forever in their stomachs. The cold and freezing produced in the body were unable to consume it since it took longer to travel the entire length of the giant, and at the same time, the body eliminated the cold with the environment. In this way, a balance was maintained between the freezing emitted by the Royal Ice in the stomach and the elimination of cold by the body.
Still, not all giants were able to withstand the experiment. Voligar thought he would get an entire army, but less than a tenth was what he managed to do. Even so, he achieved what he wanted: warriors enhanced by the Royal Ice. The giants acquired blue skin, as well as their eyes that began to emit a cold icy blue light. Everything around them began to freeze by their mere presence. For the people of Joturn this was nothing, but for the enemies, who were already weakened by the cold of the region of eternal winter, facing these giants that froze even the snow was certain death.
Composed only of giants, the Jotugards are Voligar’s royal guard, completely loyal and dedicated to their sovereign. He couldn’t ask for anything better: a guard of frost giants for the frost giant king of Joturn.
Sebravikos, the Shadow Souls

The Sebraviks are the most characteristic troop in the service of Voligar, being a creation present only in his army. They are undead, people who have had their soul replaced by their shadow, thus reaching undeath, becoming a Sebravik.
The Sebraviks are generated from the elixir Itzima, created by the shadowmancer Sebra. Upon taking the elixir, the person dies, thus the place occupied by the soul becomes empty, allowing the shadow to take over the position, bringing the person back as a Sebravik.
Unlike the soul, the shadow is capable of repairing people’s deficiencies and deformities. People who become Sebraviks make their body a reflection of their idealized shadow, a perfect, beautiful and strong body. In addition to a superior body, another bodily characteristic of theirs is their sclera that becomes entirely black.
As an undead, the body of the Sebravik decomposes like a true corpse day after day. All that keeps him “alive” and what slows down his decomposition is his shadow, which now functions as his soul. As much as it slows down the decay of the body, the shadow is not capable of generating its own energy like a soul to maintain the body, at least not on its own.
When becoming a Sebraviko, the person needs to consume umbranima, the vapor of the shadow. This substance functions as an energy, which can be extracted and used by any shadow user, this includes the Sebravikos. By constantly supplying themselves with umbranima, these undead can rejuvenate, repair and keep their body intact, but without this substance, their body will decompose to the point where it can no longer function, and even with his shadow inside, he will no longer have the strength to do anything other than stand still like a corpse, waiting for some end.
This energy is removed from the shadows of other beings, and the shadow is directly connected to the body, which is why the Sebraviko extracts umbranima through direct contact with the body of another living being. This substance materializes as a dark vapor that is absorbed through the mouth and nose of the Sebraviko. Once absorbed, the umbranima is added to the shadow of the undead, keeping their body young and intact.
The bodies of the Sebravikos are practically shells, armor made to protect the shadow inside them that keeps them “alive”. When a wound is caused to one of these beings, they do not bleed, because no organ in their body is functioning anymore and not a single drop of blood is circulating. What happens when a Sebraviko suffers damage is that the wound in their body, which serves as a shell, exposes their inner shadow. And from this wound begins to leak umbranima, precious energy necessary for their existence. But the Sebraviko can spend a certain amount of this energy to regenerate, and will no longer be able to do so when this supply runs out.
A Sebraviko has many advantages over the living. All physical aspects are greatly improved; they no longer suffer from physical pain; control over the power of shadows, including being able to raise shadows from the dead to serve him. The more powerful the Sebraviko is, the more shadow powers he will have; immortality and youth, as long as he maintains a good and consistent supply of umbranima; he has a natural affinity for crows, being able to control them and even transform into this bird or a giant monstrosity similar to this animal for combat.
However, with advantages, there are also disadvantages. There are risks in the creation of these beings. When the shadow replaces the soul, it must possess the body. The problem is when the body is too strong for its own shadow to manipulate. After failed attempts, the elixir that makes the shadow possess the body loses its effect, the shadow returns to normal and the person remains dead as an attempt that went wrong. Therefore, people with weak bodies have greater success and chances of becoming full Sebravikos, making these beings difficult soldiers to produce.
Being moved by shadows, light is the natural enemy of these undead. It does not bother them while they are unharmed, as their body functions as a shell that protects their shadow inside, but wounds and cuts expose this shadow, and contact of strong light with the shadow is extremely painful for the Sebravikos, in addition to making regeneration very difficult, requiring larger amounts of umbranima to close the wounds, and this alone weakens the Sebraviko.
Umbranima, necessary for the existence and maintenance of these beings, is also their weakness. From a lack of it, which turns them into a simple useless corpse, to an excess of it, which can generate an addiction to umbranima. When a Sebraviko has too much umbranima, their shadow and body become very unbalanced, and this results in the shadow exploding their body from the inside out, transforming them into a Gabistralis, which is nothing more than a flying, irrational, violent shadow driven by their addiction, with no other activity than hunting more living beings and sucking their umbranima. Insanity, monstrosity and insatiable addiction are what await the Sebraviko who do not control their need for umbranima.
To kill a Sebraviko, all you have to do is cause damage to the point that their shadow does not have enough umbranima to regenerate them and then strike a fatal blow. Since a shadow alone does not produce umbranima, they will remain dead until they receive this energy. But to kill these beings once and for all, you must kill their untouchable shadow; for this, all you need is a very strong light that touches the entire shadow, burning it until nothing is left. Light and weapons imbued with this element have a great effect against these undead, making it easier to defeat these beings. Even if the body turns to dust, the shadow will remain contained in that dust, and if it receives enough help, it can bring Sebraviko’s body back. To kill them, your shadow cannot live.

He died, but his soul was replaced by his shadow, and he was now resurrected as an undead. His shadow, unlike his soul, could modify his body, curing him of his deformity and weak body, giving him the appearance he believed he deserved. Viko went from a large, weak and deformed living being who could barely walk on his own, to a perfect, beautiful and healed undead. In addition to all the benefits that come with becoming a Sebraviko.
