Skerzans are a race of cockroach men who inhabit the depths of the underworld. Their numbers are countless, their reach is immeasurable, their machinations are limitless, and their potential is infinite.
The only thing that limits the skerzans is themselves. Because of their disorganized and cowardly nature, they have a culture of serving the evil tyrant who has the most potential to dominate the world. And if he succeeds, the skerzans will kill him, thus becoming the only significant force in the world. In the Otesian Era they served the dark elf king, Maliris, and later served Gralos, the greatest villain in history, during the War of the Firstborn.
Although they were mostly servants at this time, the skerzans are so numerous that they could become a player in the war for the world rather than being helpers to some player. As such, they are their own faction that should be analyzed like the others. Flatterers beyond their wildest desires, they have a habit of supporting any aspiring world conqueror who has the best chance. They do this in the hope that one day this person will actually succeed, and when he is worn out and weak at the end of this great and tiring conquest, the skerzans will stab him in the back and take everything he has achieved without having put in much effort.
Simply put, the skerzans do not mind serving someone who is capable of doing all the work of conquering the world for them, only to end up taking it all for themselves. With no major threats or competitors left, the skerzans prefer to reduce their enemies until only one remains and eliminate him quickly.
As much as they have this servile nature, the skerzans take a while to submit to a new master after their previous one fails, dies or when they believe that he is no longer capable of dominating the world, abandoning him. In the meantime, without a master, the skerzans do something that is quite unusual for them: they face their adversaries head on. They are cruel beyond any notion that the greatest sadist could imagine. Cockroaches are naturally considered repulsive, mediocre, disgusting and miserable beings, beings worthy of being stepped on and killed. Now that they have a significant size, the ability to think and an extreme hatred for any other race, the skerzans have become the treacherous, disloyal, scheming, dishonorable and cunning beings that they are. Despite their hatred and contempt for other races, the skerzans are so damned that they sabotage those of their own species. They are so numerous for so few vacancies of power, that they seek to overthrow each other in order to rise ever higher in their society. And this malicious, cruel and suspicious mentality makes the powerful skerzans abuse and oppress the less powerful skerzans even more to keep them in that position. The one who reaches the top does not want to fall like the one he knocked down to get there.
They are a greater threat than their enemies really think. In fact, the only thing that prevents the skerzans from dominating the world is themselves. Cowardice, sabotaging each other and lack of unity means that their immense number is not used as it could be. But where the skerzans really shine is in their machinery. They have access to Corestones, shiny stones that are found in the deepest layers of the planet. Not even the dwarves, the greatest experts in mining and rocks, are able to withstand reaching this depth. These rocks are sources of absurd energy that the skerzans use to power their unique and absolutely destructive war machines, more advanced than any arsenal anyone had at that time. However, even with infinite numbers, unlimited energy sources and the most advanced war machines on the planet, the Skerzans prefer to kill each other to gain a position of power in their race, or serve someone who can do the dirty work for them, and if they really want to dominate the world, they wouldn’t even get dirty if they really tried.
