Dimera
Goddess of surveillance, knowledge, secrets, manipulation,
Symbol: a hand with the three middle fingers together, the pinky and thumb apart, and an eye in the palm of the hand.
Dimera is the embodiment of the power of the few to rule the many. She is a goddess who values unnoticed manipulation, diversion of attention and lack of awareness of the people. The Profane is the type who wants to rule everyone, and even more, wants everyone to know that he is the one who rules. He likes to be the center of attention, the possessor of all power, envied by all.
But before the Profane, Dimera is a goddess of Order. Order is not interested in attention, fame or opinion. Order wants to control, that’s all. It seeks to control, without anyone knowing that they are being controlled. It seeks to watch, without people noticing that they are being watched. And above all, it does not care about the method with which it will carry out this surveillance and control. This is the Profane aspect of Dimera. She doesn’t care if anyone thinks she’s bad, unethical or amoral. She will watch, find and control everyone, whether they like it or not. The Order‘s desire to control fits very well with the Profane‘s ambition to govern, and it is in this middle ground that Dimera works. She governs based on control. An invisible, subtle, imperceptible and effective control.
The problem with dictators is that they are known. When you know your enemy, you can fight him. The Profane are so arrogant that they don’t think anyone can face them, so they see no reason not to show up and show off their power. The Order, on the other hand, is logical. The less information, especially for the people you control, the better.
Dimera is the essence of knowing everything, about everyone, and knowing how to use this knowledge. She seeks to understand the world, how it works, and the people who live in it. And in this way, she uses the most efficient method to control this world.
If people don’t know they are being controlled, they don’t revolt. If they have no enemy, there is no revolt or conflict. Keeping a secret, while keeping the world in the palm of their hand, within earshot and within sight of their eyes is the ideal to be followed by all worshippers of this goddess. She likes clever people, people who are able to be more intelligent than the world they live in. Who know how to understand how society works, and know how to use this knowledge to control and rule without even attracting attention or problems. For this universal goddess of Order, fame is nothing, control is everything. Only one person needs to know who really rules the world, and that person must be the same one who rules it.
