The Oneiric, also known as the Dreams Plane is one of the Planes of Existence. It is the fourth Plane in the chain of Planes. It is between the Elemental Plane and the Spiritual Plane .
The Dream Plane is a place covered in a vast, dark void. Only when mortals on the Material Plane begin to dream does the Dream Plane begin to see real activity.
Dream Bubbles
Whenever a mortal’s mind separates from his body in sleep, it travels to the Dream Plane. Here a world is created, contained within a bubble-like sphere. Within this bubble is where the dream will take place. No matter how random a person’s dream may be, everything will remain within the bubble as long as the dream continues. It is not possible for a dreamer’s mind to leave its bubble, much less enter another person’s bubble, at least not without outside interference. Whenever it is night on any planet in the Mortal Plane, the empty space of the Dream Plane is filled with bubbles floating in its vastness, like asteroids loose in space. If someone dies in their dream, their mind is catapulted and violently pulled back into their body.
Landfill Planets
When mortals awaken and the dreams end, the Dream Bubbles burst. And everything contained in the dream—the scenery, the structures, the living beings—all drift into the empty space of the Dream Plane. This was the case long ago, but as the years passed, the amount of dream material left behind became so great that gravity began to take effect. Little by little, everything began to clump together until it formed entire planets. Composed of all the remains of dreams, they came to be called Landfill Planets.
The surface of these planets is completely unpredictable. It is a mixture of objects, land, soil, water and even flesh. Every night when the dreams end, a rain of everything that was dreamed that night falls on the Landfill Planets, always bringing new materials and living beings to the planet. Because of the randomness, the Plane of Dreams is a place of much useless garbage that can hide truly powerful artifacts in its mountains of forgotten dreams.
Dreamborns
Dreamborns are simply all beings born from the dreams of mortals. When the bubbles burst, they, like everything else within the dreams, are pulled out of orbit by the Earthbound Planets. Many die from the impact, but the most adaptable and strong survive. These beings range from the most beautiful and gorgeous beings born from the best possible dreams, to the most terrible and horrific nightmares ever dreamed.
Having Planet Aterro as their place of residence, these creatures form alliances, live in hiding, travel in groups, or even become great figures of authority and power in this place. Some become so great and famous that they are worshipped by mortals as deities.
