The Vergani are a massive group of tribes residing in the Vergan Forest, the largest forest in the world.

They have an isolationist culture and are highly protective of their forest territories that they call home. The Vergan Forest has always been an unconquerable region, a veritable sea of green savagery and natural and plant life that attacks and consumes anyone unfortunate enough to wander into this forest without experience. And because of this hostility, especially towards those who seek to exploit and extract resources from the forest, many leaders prefer to circumnavigate the forest, even though the distance traveled is three or four times longer than crossing the forest directly.

Taking entire armies through the forest is a difficult task, even for those who only want to cross it and not attack it. The environment itself, animals and plants, seem to simply agree that the priority of their fight must be against the outsiders. This unspoken agreement that makes everything and everyone who lives in the forest agree, despite their own differences and individualities, to work together as a single force to protect the forest is called The Will of Vergan.
However, small groups, or even individuals, end up having more tolerance for traveling through the forest, because as long as they do not damage or exploit it too much, they will naturally be ignored by the Will of Vergan, and thus need only worry about individual beings of the forest and not about a massive uprising of countless forces directed against them.

The Vergani, even though divided into several tribes, have a common devotion to the god who has the same name as the forest, the god Vergan. They all believe that the forest is simply a domain of their god in the Mortal Plane, or even a direct extension of the god himself.

The End of the World itself, the dragon Gralgor, with all its size and destructive and flaming power, was unable to subdue the forest. On the contrary, whether by fire or physical strength, the dragon was unable to overcome the revolt of the largest forest in the world against it. Before the dragon could catch its breath for another burst of flames, the fire from its last breath had already been suffocated and extinguished by the forest itself, and new forests and plants were already beginning to grow to replace those destroyed. Trying to win by physical strength was even less effective, as the forest was more than capable of withstanding physical attacks and fighting back; and even though the damage to the dragon was minimal, the accumulation would begin to make Gralgor feel uncomfortable. Thus, the First Calamity gave up its desire for destruction. Not even the largest dragon in history was able to defeat the largest forest in the world.

After the dragon’s death, as the Rebirth Wars began, the activities of the world’s tyrants increased even more due to their ambitions that were inflamed when the dragon was more in their way. More expeditions began to be sent into the forest by these vile leaders, as well as the abusive exploitation of its resources extracted from the forest’s edges, where it was safer for those who wanted to take them.
With the death of Gralgor, the Verganis were forced to be more vigilant on their borders against their enemies who targeted their sacred forest with malicious eyes. However, the fight of Otes and his Drakynium against these common enemies resulted in a certain cooperation between him and the Verganis, who did not see him as an enemy and facilitated the passage of their troops through the forest.
Thus, even though they were neither part of nor subordinate to the king of Otesis, the Verganis agreed that of all the forces in the world, the Drakynium was an ally.

Through their extreme dominion over the forest, as well as the help of plants, animals and other beings of various types, and the protection of their forest god, the Verganis protect their home and take revenge on anyone who harms it, taking with them all the strength and revolt of the largest forest in the world.
