“Ertlan Phara Gort”

— Standard battle cry in the empire of the One Pharaoh. Translated as “Eternal Reign of Glass.”

Despite quickly dominating some neighboring regions, the center of Pharagort remains in Kereth, this being the largest desert in the world, being the origin and nucleus of all the strength of the Kenastrins and their culture. Their capital was renamed Kenastizer, in honor of their pharaoh leader, being a pinnacle of civilization, beauty and strength in the world.

Because they lived in a sea of sand, the people of Kereth developed an intimate culture with glass. This material became an absurdly present part of their lives and daily lives. The people of the desert created everything from the most humble and simple utensils to the most glorious monuments and wonders with their unparalleled skill in handling glass.

Another factor that makes glass so important and characteristic for the people of Kereth is the fact that it was in this desert that the corpse of the Colossus Gortep was found. Among the many Colossus around the world that were defeated by the first hero, Gilasus, Gortep was the Colossus of glass. His body remained stagnant in the sand, being buried by the winds and time. Much later, close to the reign of Kenast, the body of the colossus was found, and his corpse would be the source of the extraction of the legendary Gortep Glass, or as Kenast called it: “Glass of the Pharaoh”. This glass had a beauty that was elevated in comparison to its ordinary version, as well as a resistance and durability achieved only by the best metals. However, this glass could not be replicated, reproduced or even manufactured, and since its only source was every gram of the colossus’s corpse, its use was truly limited. Only the Pharaoh had the authority to use it or order its use. The first great thing built with this priceless glass was Kenit, the legendary glass pyramid of Kenast in the center of the capital city of Kenastizer. This pyramid would become more than a symbol of beauty, culture, and power for the Kenastrins; it would become the symbol of them all. With the construction of Kenit and the beautiful beginning of the expansion of their territory, the Kenastrins adopted a transparent triangle representing a glass pyramid with a shining star at the top as the symbol that would unite them all.

Forces

Gortras

The Gortras, translated as “Stained Glass”, are the main forces and institutions in the empire of Kenast. Each one is represented by a color, function and a capital city for each of the Gortas. Every member of these institutions, from the lowest rank, wears glass of the characteristic color of their stained glass in their uniform, the higher the rank within the Gortra, the more glass of that color in their uniform they will have.
Each Gortra is led by a Glassarch, who has a glass crown called Khrart as a symbol of their maximum authority within their Gortra. And below only the Glassarchs are the Viziers, who are the main responsible for the Gortras, organizing the structure of the stained glass and reporting directly to the Glassarch in the same way that the Glassarch reports to Kenast.
Just as Glassarch and Viziers are ranks present in each Gortra, there is a name that is shared by all. No matter the level in the hierarchy and no matter which stained glass the person serves in, everyone who is part of these institutions receives the title of Gortrash. This title never changes regardless of the level of the person inside the stained glass or which stained glass they are in, all who serve a Gortra are Gortrashs.

Gortralit Segrad (Red Stained Glass Of War)

My blood for the stained glass of war.”

— Gortralit Segrad’s Battle Cry.

This is Kenast’s raw army. Those who have chosen the red stained glass will dedicate their entire lives to physical improvement and the refinement of military knowledge to its most advanced form.

Erlits is the name given to every member of this stained glass, from the novice who has never been in battle to the Glassarch himself. The name Erlits, which means “Red,” is what connects the members of this stained glass to the life of war they have chosen to live.

As they are the main frontline combat force, the Erlits of the stained glass of war end up being those who have the most contact with the enemy. And that is why the rule decreed by Kenast for every combat that his empire participates in ends up being further reinforced in this stained glass.

Jorlar Segradtis

— Translated: “Warriors Only.” Rule of the One Pharaoh that prohibits his troops from attacking civilians, innocents, and the disabled.

When broken, the person who broke the rule is promptly punished in whatever way their superiors see fit. Lesser punishments such as losing a finger, being expelled from the stained glass, or even the ultimate death are some of the punishments that those in the service of the One Pharaoh may suffer if they break this rule.

The attachment and admiration for the honor of the One Pharaoh is legendary, and this should be reflected throughout his empire, in all his forces. No one in his service, from the greatest Glassarchs to the most basic soldier, is allowed to tarnish the honor of Kenast. A dishonorable action by his subjects dishonors the One Pharaoh. And it is something that he cannot tolerate.

Gortraulgo Grart (Blue Stained Glass of Engineering)

Known as Hiulgos, “Blues,” the Gortrashs of the Blue Stained Glass are the engineers, architects, craftsmen, researchers, and inventors of Kenast.
Kenast’s empire was always seen as the most monumental of all until the arrival of the kingdom of Otesis, and the One Pharaoh owes this to the Blue Stained Glass. Pyramids, statues, palaces, and fortresses, andeverything powerful and magnificent in the desert empire was designed by the Blues.
When it came to war, not even the Otesian forces and the best dwarven engineers could build weapons capable of competing with the divine inventions of the Hiulgos. Through intelligence, creativity, and ingenuity, the Blue Stained Glass gave Kenast the largest, most powerful, and most destructive war machines that could walk or fly on the planet. There was never a single complaint from the One Pharaoh regarding the quality of the Hiulgos’ buildings, whether in beauty or power.

Gortraieklo Hor (Yellow Stained Glass Of Sky)

Known as ieklos, “Yellows,” the gortrash of the yellow stained glass are the masters of the skies of Kenast.
As vast as the empire of Kenast was, countless winged beasts lived and flew throughout its territory. Beasts of immense beauty, natural hostility, and immense power. Coatls, thunderbirds, phoenixes. All species were plentiful in the empire of sands.
However, taming them was not an easy task. Brute force was not enough, which is why the Erlits of the red stained glass are rarely seen riding these flying beasts that served no one through violence. Likewise, the intelligence of the hiulgos of the blue stained glass was also far from sufficient, for these creatures, despite being animals, were not fooled by simple tricks and deception. And above all, it was never Kenast’s wish that servitude to him be involuntary or out of fear, whether thinking or animal.
This ends up making the ieklos even more valued. Just like every domesticated animal, the flying beasts needed a true bond with the candidate to ride them. True empathy, natural kindness and unbreakable courage. Things that are difficult to find in a single person, which is why the yellow stained glass is one of those with the fewest members, as many can kill a beast through violence and rage, but few can tame it through kindness and affection.
Once conquered, the creature would become part of the proud desert empire. Over time, they began to breed in the empire’s facilities, and their offspring would grow in the company of the common races, thus not becoming unfamiliar with them and thus making it less difficult to be ridden in the future. Thanks to the domestication of these beasts by the first ieklos, many would in the future be able to conquer their flying mounts much more easily, as they would no longer need to explore dangerous and unknown places to find a beast that had no intention of serving them. Once generated in the empire itself, these generations of animals would be raised from young to be the mounts of the ieklos.
Bound by a friendship and loyalty that only a person and their animal understand, the ieklos patrol the skies of the entire empire of Kenast, also serving as perfect scouts and lookouts, because from the sky, they can see everything.

Gortrases Emtar (Green Stained Glass of Medicine)

Known as the rese, “green ones”, the gortrash of the green stained glass are Kenast’s experts in biology.
Among all of Otes Abiak’s great enemies, there was not one who had much concern in investing in the art of medicine in his forces, none except Kenast. The territory of the One Pharaoh has always been, even before him, a land ravaged by plagues and diseases. The effort to combat them was natural and successful, turning the glass empire into a powerhouse in the area of medicine and healing.
After assuming the throne, Kenast did not reduce the investment in this area, quite the opposite. It was Kenast who created the 7 gortras, and made a point of reserving one of the divine stained glass windows for his beloved, proficient and indispensable doctors.
The medicine of the green stained glass window not only brought health to the people and prosperity in the crops due to its capabilities and research, but its effects were more than indispensable in the war. The main focus of his Glassarch was poisons, both in how to make Kenast’s warriors immune, and to make the toxins more potent against his enemies. Even though he was an adherent of honor, Kenast prohibited the use of poisons only in duels, unless the competitors agreed that both or just one would use this invisible weapon. Thus, the One Pharaoh saw no problem in using poisons in great battles, as poison would be just one of the thousands of problems that Kenast’s enemies would face.
Gortrases Emtar will use all the power that life has to offer, whether to save or to kill.

Gortralas Iurvos (Orange Stained Glass of the Underworld)

Known as pralas, “oranges,” the gotrash of the orange stained glass are the greedy explorers of Kenast.
Owning the richest lands on the planet, which made even the richest dwarves envious, Kenast had a veritable universe of treasures beneath his feet. And yet, below. The One and Only Pharaoh needed people, not only to dig, but to explore the underworld that hid infinite riches.
All of Kenast’s servants served him because they believed in his greatness and sought to improve the empire in their respective areas, believing that they were absolutely necessary for the good of all. However, no one saw the risk of venturing into the underworld just to acquire riches as something worthwhile or important to the empire.
Kenast believed that prosperity was indeed demonstrated in many ways, but one of them would always be wealth. Even if it was just to have them, he wanted those relics beneath the earth for his empire. Even though they were underground, that was still his territory, everything belonged to him. However, he never forced anyone to do anything, but always rewarded well those who served him.
The pralas of the orange stained glass window were those who accepted the support of the One Pharaoh to venture underground and return with immeasurable amounts of treasures. They all received very generous shares of their discoveries, and this caused those who had no interest or courage to try their luck in the underworld under the duty of Kenast.
Despite the growing number of candidates, the dangers of the underworld were absurd when compared to those on the surface, making mortality immense. In the end, only the best remained inside the orange stained glass window. Those who would bring the greatest riches and conquests of the underworld to Kenast, not only metals and precious stones, but domesticated animals from the underground, ready to serve in the exploration or war of the One Pharaoh.
Even though they were greedy, the Glassarch always kept the pralas, especially the younger and more enthusiastic ones, under control. He always reminded them who they served: himself. The Glassarch always loved the power he wielded over all his gortrashs, everyone was beneath him, and he, below only Kenast. Everything he acquired, most of it was Kenast’s, and most of what his subordinates would acquire, was his. Even driven by greed, they always remembered who supported him and financed everything necessary for them to make their first successful descent into the underground. Kenast never forced them, but always supported them. And this was rewarded with extreme loyalty from the orange stained glass to their One Pharaoh. This was a skill of Kenast’s that no one else had, the ability to make selfish people feel proud of fighting for someone. Becoming incredibly wealthy, the pralas were valued by Kenast, despised by some, and envied by all. Over time, exploration and plunder gave way to colonization. The pralas were the pioneers in discovering the potential of the underworld, and began to occupy it as a lower layer of the empire of sands. Whether in the sky, on the ground, or below, everything belonged to Kenast.

Gortrainas Sardr (Indigo Stained Glass of Shadow)

Known as rainas, “indigos,” the grotash of the indigo stained glass are the spies and assassins of Kenast.
The glass empire has always been bright, warm, and transparent. Its workings and structure have always been as clear as the sun that shines above it. But every light casts a shadow, and like everything else in the empire, that shadow serves Kenast.
The rainas are unknown even to the people of Kenast themselves. You don’t hide something from someone you don’t know exists. They function as secret agents throughout the empire. Tracking, watching, investigating, and eliminating any internal threat that may arise, their job is to prevent this from happening.
In the same way, they are spies among Kenast’s enemies. They operate outside the territory, living in enemy lands, analyzing their defenses, reporting enemy actions, and if possible, eliminating someone important when they get the opportunity. Still, they are always welcome in major battles, because assassinating someone who is not even on a war footing is not the only way to kill they know.

Extremely agile, silent and stealthy, they move like a grain of sand carried by the wind. Being adepts of efficiency that commands them to kill enemies no matter the form, they are one of the few that Kenast has exempted from being honorable. The very concept of death and murder that they embody goes against the concept of honor that Kenast preaches so much. Still, there are no cases where Kenast orders them to eliminate an enemy of enormous importance, and if he dies to an assassin so easily, then he would not last much longer in the war anyway;

They are the gigantic shadow that Kenast’s great light projects. The dark presence that reaches places that the brightness of the One Pharaoh cannot reach.

Gortravolat Margzes (Violet Stained Glass of Magic)

Known as volas, “violets,” the gortrash of the violet stained glass are the mages in service to Kenast.
Equivalent to the Magi Solis of Otesis, the Gortravolat Margzes is the institution of study, learning, and magical development of the glass empire. Unlike any other organization of mages in other governments of the time, the violet stained glass is focused on the magic of plagues. More precisely, how to prevent, control, and utilize them.
Tides of blood, clouds of insects, diseases, meteor showers, and destruction, even complete darkness in territories.
No matter what curse or plague the empire of Kenast may have, its mages of the violet stained glass will easily turn these catastrophes against the enemies of the glass empire.

Unities

Gortep’Natr

Simply the royal guard of Kenast. The Gortep’Natr are the most skilled, dedicated, loyal and feared warriors in the service of the One Pharaoh.
Also called “Blood of Glass”, the Gortep’Natr get their name from the legendary glass Titan of the same name. The Titan’s corpse was found in the Kereth desert, the territory of Kenast. Because of this, the Kerethian civilization has a cultural connection with glass. However, the glass from the Titan’s body is only used by the Pharaoh. Nothing that is not directly related to him is not allowed to use this sacred glass, and it is a very serious crime to handle this glass with the direct permission of the Pharaoh.
For this reason, few things are made from this legendary glass, one of them being the great pyramid of Kenast, Kenit. Located in the capital of Kenastizar, this pyramid was built by order of the One Pharaoh in his own honor and made with this legendary glass coming directly from the corpse of the Titan Gortep. Given its rarity, limited quantity, and cultural value, this glass is carefully guarded and used only when the Pharaoh truly believes it is worth the expense. Therefore, it is a great honor to be part of the Gortep’Natr. The warriors of the royal guard are handpicked by the Pharaoh himself. Once chosen, these warriors will undergo the glassification ritual. In this ritual, they are tied up, laid down, and the sacred burning glass in liquid form is poured over their bodies, melting their skin, flesh, and muscles. As all of this is destroyed, the glass replaces everything that was melted. If the candidate survives and endures the pain and agony, he will emerge from the ritual as an honorable and noble member of the Gortep’Natr.

Everything in their bodies is now made of sacred glass, with the exception of their internal organs. Since the glass in their bodies is transparent, all of their organs are visible at all times. Many would consider this a weakness, as it exposes their vital points. This would be true if the metal were not like paper next to this glass. Extremely resistant, it takes maximum strength to crack the bodies of this guard. The glass keeps their organs functioning and at an ideal temperature, never changing. No matter the weather, cold or hot, these warriors are no longer affected by temperature. Fatigue takes an infinitely long time to hinder them. And the amount of food and water required for their bodies to function has been reduced to a tiny fraction of what it once was. This glass is so pure that diseases cannot enter their bodies, making them immune to disease. Blessed by the pharaoh with the divine glass of their people, the Gortep’Natr are the elite of Kenast’s army. They will be loyal and serve until death, with their determination more unbreakable than their bodies.

Necryds

The legendary flying war pyramids of Kenast. They were used to move entire armies and were equipped with weapons capable of devastating an entire city with a single Necryd.

Philatracs

Second only to the Necryds, the Philatracs are the greatest war machines in Kenast. Monuments powered by soul energy, these monstrous desert architectures cannot be stopped by anything less than heavy enemy efforts and will cause untold destruction in any battle the One Pharaoh unleashes them in.
These gigantic war statues come in a variety of shapes. Humanoid, bestial, flying, ranged, or melee. There are Philatracs for any situation or function the army needs. And there are few cases where the use of these war statues is not useful.

Vlases

Conjured by the mages of the violet stained glass, the Vlases are physical and concentrated manifestations of the plagues controlled by these mages.
Mobile, practically intangible and unstoppable, the vlases infest and suffocate the battlefield with their bodies made entirely of the most varied plagues mastered by the mages of Gortravolat Margzes.
They are created and formed by the plague that the mage most dominates, and can come in a variety of forms: blood, insects, plants that dry and dehydrate any living being until it dies.
Vlases made of flying insects, for example, can form a cloud with the sum of their quantity, being able to go anywhere at an immense speed and simply form a warrior’s body upon arriving at any battle.
Because they are made of substances that are rarely solid or of an immense quantity of small beings, the vlases end up being practically immune to physical attacks such as cuts or stabs, since there is no point in cutting liquids or even an entire swarm of insects. Things that deal massive damage and area damage, such as fire, are absurdly effective against these beings, having very little resistance against these types of attacks.

Characters

Senit, Death Energizer

Race: Aven (vulture)

Blue Glassarch of Engineering.
Kenast’s greatest engineer. He created the Necryds. Pyramids of giants that float and go into battle like warships. They fire lasers and drain the life energy of nearby troops, as well as their souls when they are killed. He always stays in his main ship, the most important of all Necryds, and the dark pyramid that was used as a monument in honor of the End of the World, now used as a war machine, Talekitah.

Orlani, Microni Artist

Vizier of Gortraulgo Grart

He is responsible for Kenast’s greatest land weapons, the living monuments called Philatracs. Huge creatures made of stone and imbued with the power of death. All are powered by micronis, stones capable of storing souls.

Vorkris Blood Wake, River Storm, Lightning Strike, Dismemberer, King of the Nites

Race: Oketri (A species of immense crocodile men)

Red Glassarch of War.

Without a doubt, Kenast’s most complete warrior. This crocodile possesses a very advanced elemental power of lightning, and uses two clubs with which he charges and explodes lightning strikes at his opponents. He specializes in river battles and violent and brutal ambushes.

Nalet

Race: Jacari (a primitive race of alligator men)

Vizier of Gortralit Segrad

Since the Glassarch of the red stained glass window is an oketri (crocodile man), it was to be expected that the jacari (alligator man) would have a large presence and influence in the stained glass window. But that was not the case. The jacari are the cousins of the oketri, they are smaller, more violent and primitive. They would normally live within the empire of Kenast without serving it. They would attack cities, devour citizens and plunder caravans. That was until Vorkris himself, the red Glassarch of war, was sent to subjugate his cousins. Vorkris oppressed them with such violence and ferocity that the jacari not only feared him, but admired him. Normally it would be unthinkable for a primitive race like them to swear to serve any ruler, but under Vorkris’ command, whether due to his strength or proximity to their races, they accepted.

Nalet was the leader of the jacari and became one of the viziers. He, like those he leads, have no sense of honor in combat. Ambushes, dirty tricks and cowardly attacks, besides the only battles he is interested in are those where there is a huge amount of wealth involved. Killing quickly is not Nalet’s style, he likes to see the enemy suffer, bleed and crawl. His strength and life leaving his body along with all his blood. Only when the person reaches the edge, he will give the last kick to make him fall. He did not become a vizier because he knew how to fight, he became one because he knew how to win. Having a jacari in a high position was a good way to keep this race under control and calm. The jacari would normally not obey Kenast’s order not to attack civilians, but that is why one of them has a leadership position, to control them, remind them who they serve, and that his rules must be followed or else they will suffer punishment. Even with some “incidents” happening here and there, and even against their will, the jacari serve well in Kenast’s army. Even sadists, greedy and deceitful people are useful to Kenast, as long as they do not let their impulses overcome the will of the One Pharaoh. Nalet understands this, he knows that it would be either to serve Kenast or be exterminated. And if he has to control himself a little in exchange for his life and war gains, he will do it. But only a little.

Klortrat, Eternal Warrior

His race no longer matters, having died during the Great Siege of Otesis. His soul was placed in a microni and used to power a Philatrac. Normally, it takes several microni and several souls to power a single monument, and this causes no one’s mind to control the construction, turning it into a robot without personality. But only Klortrat’s soul was needed to power an entire Phylatrac, allowing his consciousness to take over the monument, being the only one with a mind of its own. And with his new body, equipped with shields on both arms, a sword, a spear, and a bow and arrows that can bring down dragons, he will serve Kenast once again.

Lat, Sand Shadow

Race: Amurani (jackal man)

Indigo Glassarch of Shadow.

Master assassin in the service of Kenast. Covered by clothes that camouflage him in the desert, and legs made for speed, he is the most agile of all Kenast’s army. With his absurd speed, he can move the sand to the point of creating a sandstorm, and with a khopeshs and a whip, he runs and kills his enemies without even being seen with so much sand.

Neferi, Poison Tail

Race: Naga (rattlesnake)

Green Glassarch of Medicine.

Kenast’s most skilled poison wielder. This naga had the tip of her tail cut off in battle, and it was replaced with a metal stinger, which is connected to her venom-producing gland, making her a deadly poison injector. In addition to the two daggers filled with the purest poisons, and because she is a cobra naga, she herself can spit venom and inject it by biting. It is said that you are poisoned just by approaching her in battle.

Kinaf, The Infuriater

Race: Wukong (baboon)

Vizier of Gortrases Emtar

Kinaf is the vizier of the green stained glass of medicine, completely focused on strengthening his allies through potions of pure rage. He believes that battle is the place of the purest nature of living beings, fighting without rationality, only following their most primitive instincts.
Taken by the insanity of Kinaf’s elixirs, the soldiers are taken by a rage that makes them ignore all pain, fatigue or thought in the middle of the battlefield, becoming real uncontrollable war machines, only stopped by death, and sometimes not even that stops them, because the rage elixirs can make the person’s heart continue even after death so that they can continue fighting, at least until the end of that battle.
Kinaf does not lie or hide the effects of his potions from those who offer to test them. Only those most desperate for strength use this liquid rage, or when they are practically dead, as a way of offering everything they have in a last battle. Whatever the reason for drinking an Infuriater potion, seeing this person on the battlefield is like watching an animal fighting to survive until its last drop of sweat, blood and fervor.

Rak’nos, Thunder Rider

Race: Felidi (lion)

Yellow Glassarch of the Sky.

King of Senest. In charge of Kenast’s entire air force. Rider of the golden-rayed Thunderbid, he is the leader of these gigantic birds in Kenast’s army.

Anaktra, Senhora do Eclipse

Race: Aven (ibis)

Violet Glassarch of Magic.

Queen of Makit. Responsible for all magical knowledge, development and teaching in the empire of Kenast. Anaktra specializes mainly in the eclipse and the darkness that this event brings.
Like her Pharaoh, Anaktra possesses a personal necryd, a flying war pyramid, called Enklas, also known as “The 4 Faces to the Dark”. It was made of a black mineral that gave it the appearance of an entirely black pyramid.
It is through the 4 dark sides of Enklas and her eclipse magic that Anaktra is able to connect with the Dark Plane, bringing the powerful beings of this plane of existence to fight in the ranks of the One Pharaoh.

Raneptis, the Burrower

Race: Molom

Orange Glassarch of the Underworld.

Responsible for the entire expansion of Kenast’s empire into the underworld and possessor of the largest subterranean beasts in the army. His main mount is the largest desert worm known as Konep, the Ground Extinguisher.

Nykria, Kenast’s Glass

Race: Aven (falcon)

She is the Ramneset, translated as “The Clearest”, and is the leader of the Gortep’Natr, Kenast’s royal guard. Few are those allowed, trusted and blessed to be part of this guard, even fewer, only one in fact, is capable of occupying the leadership position of this very select group, only one is worthy of being a Ramneset until his death.

Nykria was the first, not only to become a Gortep’Natr, but to be a Ramneset. She was handpicked by the One and Only Pharaoh, and she has never done anything to belittle that honor. She has always protected him, saved him and is loyal to him until the day of his death. Kenast has never made such a good choice in her life.

Jotlis Linaris

Race: Human

As a member of the former royal guard of King Jamast, Kenast’s father who was killed by his own son, Jotlis, like all the kamalar, was dismissed from service and the kamalar were disbanded shortly before the king’s death.
After Kenast assumed the throne, the new royal guard, now called Gortep’Natr, was created. Because of their dedication and service to his father, Kenast invited all the former members of the kamalar to be the first to form his new royal guard. Many of these warriors refused to protect and swear loyalty to a tyrant who had usurped the throne through the murder of his own father. Jotlis was not one of them.
To Jotlis, the Linaris family has a tradition and obligation to be the royal guard of the ruler of the desert, no matter what title he uses or who he is. In his eyes, his duty as a guard has simply passed from father to son. As one of the first Gortep’Natr, Jotlis serves Kenast with the same willingness and loyalty with which he served his father for many years.
It was a disappointment for Jotlis to learn that his son, who was also a proud kamalar, had joined the revolts against the now pharaoh Kenast. And within a few years his son was no longer just an enemy of his pharaoh, he was one of the most well-known, becoming segrerch of the 1st segment of the Dolav legion. Despite his regret, Jotlis will fight against anyone who threatens his pharaoh, even if it is his own son.
